It's difficult to narrow one down when San Francisco is a book of postcard perfect views. However, a few weeks ago I had lunch at Louis' on a clear winter afternoon, and in that moment, with blue sea and sky spilling over the horizon and the ruins of Sutro Baths down below, I distinctly remember thinking that this no-frills little diner at the edge of the earth had the best table in town.

Situated right at the end of the pier in Fort Mason next to the Marina, Greens has a beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay. The vegetarian menu includes dishes inspired by a variety of cuisines, and it features local produce and dairy.

Grand Hyatt San Francisco has Grandviews on the roof. It's aptly named. Crab cakes and garlic fries are awesome too.

Waterbar and Epic Roasthouse...both on the water with views of the bay bridge....doesn't get much better!
Sunday Champagne Brunch at Cliff House! The amazing house popovers taste even better with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean.
Vesuvio Cafe has a gorgeous view of the bay with delicious food!

Beach Chalet - If you can get a window seat, you'll be treated to a great view of the beach, from the Cliff House to the north, and south as far as the eye can see. Factor in that the dinner hour also happens to hit right around sundown, you get a bird's eye view of the sun dropping into the Pacific.
Beach Chalet has amazing eggs benedict. This is a great place for brunch on a nice day in SF.
One of my favorite places to watch the sunset.
