Pork Meatball Bahn Mi

Not only the best tasting but great prices. The bread is important and the chicken one is amazing. I should know since I'm Vietnamese. One of my friends even started buying them to take to the baseball games.

BEST SANDWICHES EVER!

They're the best and have been the best for the past 15+ years. I've tried banh mi's elsewhere and they weren't the same.

the fresh baked bread and huge assortment is amazing

Yummy sandwiches, awesome sweet potato fries.

I don't care what cute gentrified places come out on Fillmore selling bun meeee: no one can rival the banh mi of Saigon Sandwiches. It's cheap, quick, easy, and clearly tastes the best--it's got to be that secret sauce!

You cannot go wrong with a $4 sandwich. Especially when the place serving it is actually clean and the sandwich in all reality has more substance than most conversations you can have. Bear with the crackheads and crazies that plague the area because the 10 minutes you stand in line will be well worth it.

$4 sandwich. I'm so on it.

Just tried the tofu sandwich here. It was juicy and delicious, although for vegetarians who are at all worried about cross-contamination, this is NOT the place for you. My sambo had some rogue pate on it, which my bf gladly removed for me with a nice big bite.

Down and dirty little shop slangin' so many banh mis in so little time. Get two, you will want another after you finish the first.

More authentic than Saigon, and just plain better, too. There are several great banh mi places in the Loin, but Sing Sing takes the prize.

Little Vietnam Cafe has the best pork banh mi, hands down.

For me, Viet Nam at Broadway and Grant offers the best banh mi in the city, and perhaps the entire Bay Area. Unlike most of the Bay Area’s banh mi spots, Viet Nam doesn’t offer multiple variations of the banh mi sandwich, which many people may find unusual. In most cases, a typical banh mi shop might offer 10 or 12 choices of meat — anything from Asian-style meatballs, to French-style pate, to the more basic roasted preparations. But at Viet Nam, the choice is rather simple: grilled pork, or grilled chicken? The grilled pork is actually marinated tenderloin, wonderfully flavored, cooked to order, served charred and tender, and just as juicy as you could ever hope. The smoky grill advertises itself several doors down, and the dining room is usually quite warm, which can often be a benefit in San Francisco. Cash only.

Saigon Sandwich: You know a place is good when you trek to the TL just to get a banh mi.
