The desserts are spectacular (you can eat meals there, too). I love taking people there because their eyes just about pop out of their heads when they see the beautiful pastries and cakes. Everything is delicious. It's the best place I know of for a first date.

to add to the cupcake dessert places, Buttercup Bake Shop has super moist cupcakes and the frosting tastes like buttery goodness. I'm talking Red Velvet paradise, although their standard chocolate cupcakes are yummy. I'd say if you can't take a whole bowl-full of cupcake from Crumbs Bake Shop and you're in midtown, you should try and make it here for dessert.
