Cinta Salonl!! The first time stylist Skye cut my hair she was still a "student" of sorts. I paid 25 bucks. Over a year later she's now a top tiered stylist who makes sure I get the best cut and deal possible. She's got the guts to go with trendy funky styles, the guts to tell me when I should reconsider and the guts to have my needs ahead of making a buck. I love her. The end.
Bus Stop is a good spot. They don't serve food (apart from popcorn and the occasional free pizza), but they have a bunch of menus and you can have food delivered there.
...I was one of them :::ducking::: But only in support of my friend who is a rabid Cowboys fan and begged me to go with her! She MADE me go, and MADE me wear a blue wig and cowboy boots. I did feel a little traitorous.
farm: table is a super small place on Post between jones and leavenworth. It's got a short daily menu for breakfast and lunch the food is fantastic and all locally grown and raised (I think they have their own farm or just one they work with hence the name, the idea of from the farm to the table). It's got one big table that sits around 6 so you get friendly with the other customers. I really enjoy it.
I went for a latte, instead of the iced coffee, but was not disappointed. It's a pretty teeny place, so if you're going with a large group, you may want to take your brunch plans elsewhere. It's certainly worth checking out though!
I like to go to the Pork Store Cafe or Cafe Gratitude for lunch, although the "gratitude" schtick at Cafe Gratitude can be a little heavy handed. But...their raw, vegan cheesecake is amazing.
1. Miller's East Coast Delicatessen for a Reuben 2. Anywhere I can get a "Thanksgiving" sandwich (including Cheese Plus on Polk and Nook on Hyde) 3. Ikes (for everything... as well as Thanksgiving sando)
That sounds excellent. Reminds me of a tiny Chinese place I went into years ago in the Sunset. No one in the place was eating off the menu...so we had to tell the waiter to bring us what the other tables were having. Best. Prawns. Ever. I wish I could remember what it was called!
Zarzuela. I also like Comstock Saloon or 15 Romolo for a light bite and drink. If the date goes well I drag em to The Saloon for some local live blues! If they can hang with that crowd I'm sold.
it's in North Beach. 15 Romolo is the actual address, its a small alley just east of Columbus off of Broadway. Track 42 is a cocktail, a delicious cocktail.
