Because you can order one with their amazing chilaquiles

for some reason it just tastes more fresh than even those mission taco stands!

From scallop, duck leg and goat tacos for the adventurous type, to mahi mahi tacos for those who can appreciate a traditional fish taco with a twist and killer margaritas, Mamacitas re-defines Mexican cuisine.

Search for a business...Mamacita -- I haven't tried enough SF margaritas to be the best judge, but the ones we drank here were fresh, aromatic, and strong. They've also got a massive tequila menu with all kinds of rare & delectable varieties.

Mamacita Do you know what happens when you have one marg? You have another. Do you know what happens when you have two margs? You get the munchies, and you'll want to be at this place when that happens, because the food here is delish.
10
I completely agree! Their cadillac margarita will put you under the table!

this is totally what happens to me every time! glad I'm not the only one ;)

Mamacitas. The duck "carnitas" taco is killer, especially when paired with one of the hand-crafted margaritas.
10
Yes, on the duck carnitas taco!

Fish & Farm, there are two really nice private dining rooms and they take reservations. Betelnut Restaurant and Mamacita are also good places for groups.

Heather, what separates these 3 restaurants from one another?
32
Fish and farm is a great Place for pre-theater dining, for weddings or corporate dinners, the food is very good quality, all American Cuisine. The separate dining rooms leave a lot of room for privacy. Betelnut has excellent Pan Asian Cuisine, which is served family style but the place is a lot more of a scene with higher noise levels. Mamacita also is a little noisier without private dining rooms but the food is wonderful California Style Mexican and it is the kind of place you can share plates too. I would choose Fish and Farm for a more serious outing and would go to Mamacita or Betel nut for a more festive evening like a bachelorette party or a birthday celebration with heavy drinking.

I'll sway for Betelnut Restaurant for a great birthday bash with good drinks. Thank you for all the different perspectives, Heather.

What's your favorite marg here?

Tacolicious is right down the street. They've both got sizeable reps. I think it's time for a showdown.
10
Tacolicious for their Passion Margaritas, Fresh Salsa and Fresh Chips...Hands down.

I love their strawberry marg and the cadillac.

To eat, what to order? It's always a blindfolded shot in the dark when trying out a new Mexican restaurant.
6
To start, margaritas (obviously) and chips with guac. The guac is out-of-this-world. I usually order a couple of things to share with the table, but some of my favorites are the Enchiladas Rancheras, Camaron al Pastor astor (prawn tacos), and the Crudo de Atun (Ahi tartar).

My goodness, that sounds like a lot of tasty goodness. And now, when I go, I won't be subjected to the stress of having to choose.
10
I'm a big fan of the "I'll take one of everything on the menu" philosophy. Zero stress, 10,000 calories.

Their fish tacos are great!

Ditto. And during Happy Hour, they're only $4 a pop.
8
That's comfortably within my price range. Volume, on the other hand, must be a little low. How much for a happy hour pitcher? I'm a lush when it comes to margaritas.

Mamacita in the Marina. They have exotic flavors like Pomegranate, Mendoza, and Mango! If your lucky enough to make it in time for happy hour, you can get $4 margaritas!
21
The Mango Margaritas as Mamacita are dangerously delicious!
26
Pomegranate is definitely my fav.

I had a jamaica margarita years ago at a now defunct place in the Mission (don't ask for a name, it was years before I lived here). One of the best I've ever tasted. Do they have anything like that?
