The tacos are really good! People wait in line for the Taco Tuesday Special. Usually has a young crowd. Good for groups!
1
I am addicted to their chicken quesadillas with sour cream and the green sauce.

If you're out and about on Polk Street, this little place hits the spot with their fresh and yummy tacos, chicken tortilla soup, burritos and more. It's kitschy, for sure, but consider it part of the ambience. Prices are reasonable and they make a killer margarita.

The red sauce and green sauce...how I love to drench you over my tacos!

I know I am supposed to choose some secret spot in the mission or something, but I really like Nick's Crispy tacos. They are consistently delicious and quick and easy because I live in the Marina. Steer clear of this place in Tuesdays, though. The specials are really good, but they get really packed...

what about Tacko?
24
Tacko has the same owners and a similar menu, but Nick's is still way better...
1
Nick's Crispy Tacos of course! Hard to beat $2 beers and $2 tacos loaded with guac.
10
Taco Tuesday or an everyday thang?
2
Totally agree! Nick's is awesome.

I love this place, Nick's tacos are the best. Tacko in the Marina just opened as is owned by the same people with the same menu as Nick's but there is never a line...

Nick's Crispy Tacos. Taco Tuesday for $2. GO EARLY. I already warned you.
10
Or Skip the line and head to Tacko in the Marina, same menu same food, never a line
10
Lauren, then what are some differences between Nick's Crispy Tacos and Tacko?
10
They are the same menu but just in different locations. Nick's is on Polk and Tacko is on Filmore in the triangle bar area of the Marina. Tacko is quieter on Tuesdays (although they do have deals on this day and do serve booze) but the venue is smaller and quieter. If you are looking for a place with no line and great food, this is your new joint on Tuesday nights.

Perfect for those Mexican cravings, and make sure you ask for your tacos Nick's Way, for that little extra something.

Nick's Crispy Tacos are delicious and they have a great bar, too.

$2 Taco Tuesday! Come early because the lines are ridiculous.

Nick's Crispy Tacos The unquestioned and unrivaled champion of late-night-Polk-Street-Wandering tacos and the like

If you have never tried the pescado taco at Nick's Crispy Tacos, you haven't fully lived. When I lived in Russian Hill and worked from home on the weekdays, I'd take over a booth by myself, watched Giants day games on the TV above the bar, and washed down my fish tacos with afternoon Coronas. Bliss.

Nick's Crispy Tacos are always delicious if you are feeling authentic mexican food. If you are in the mood for a more upscale take on the taco, Tacolicious is where you should go. The secret is out on both of these hot spots though, so be prepared to wait!
I agree!
14
I wouldn't Nick's Crispy Tacos authentic, but I'd definitely call it really good.
10
Nick's Crispy Tacos is great but apart from their tacos I would recommend getting their sangria.

GET THE CHURROS!

Where is Nick at his best? I like The Taco Shop at Underdogs. They've got pac man!

Pier 23 Cafe Cafe. Easy to find, strong drinks, tasty menu, friendly staff, indoor and outdoor seating, views of the bay, live music, dancing biker types etc. Mostly though, it's within walking distance from Pier 39 and all the touristy stuff, so they out-of-towners can come here for a reprieve from sightseeing ;) For the quintessential seedy SF experience, I send 'em over to Zeitgeist or Shotwell's. Out-of-towners also seem to get a kick outta Nick's Crispy Tacos on a Tuesday night for dinner and crawling up and down Polk Street (and I can't really blame them!)

Wow, I've never been but it sounds amazing. Outdoor seating is always the best especially when you have views of the bay! Any recommendations on what to order?

My dream deal would be at Nick's Crispy Tacos! Gooey guacamole, Mexican coke, nightclub-meets-taco joint... what more could a Saturday afternoon ask for? I know it's not the biggest dream, but it's mine. All mine.
34
Yumm. I want one of those tacos right now! Have you tried their new restaurant, Tako Sushi? Apparently they serve some pretty bomb Lobster rolls!
25
This sounds amazing, I know a friend who loved the tacos so much he tried to get them to sponsor his soccer team, not with money - just free tacos.

Have you had the Nick's Crispy Tacos churros? So delish!
