Mexican food is one of my favorite cuisines and I heard this is a great restaurant for brunch!

Perfect place to relax over a plate of nachos with a potential special someone.

Love the order & pay first model and the very diverse and fresh salsa bar. Not to mention the plantain and bean burrito! Something I've never heard of/had before and a great option for a vegetarian sick of boring veggie burritos which include only rices, beans, lettuce, and tomato.

the healthiest tasting Mexican food I've ever had

What's really interesting about this place-other than the phenomenal food- is that prior to this establishment, there was RIco's at the same address- hands down the worst mexican place in the city. But Rico was shot in the head by a customer who was trying to steal his burrito, and the place closed. Don't worry- the neighbor hood is neigh fancy now- but imagine getting shot in the head over the worst burrito in the city? That's not right.

All the big dogs know that the best place for Mexican food, especially if you’re watching your wallet and your figure, is the Little Chihuahua on Lower Haight. Pop into this neighborhood spot for an out-of-this-world plantain and black bean burrito, or a visit to their top-notch salsa bar -- the tomatillo with charred bits of tomato gets me every time. If you stumble out of bed in time, try brunch -- the creamy horchata and Mexican French toast are as good a hangover cure as they come.

Little Chihuahua is one of my top two Mexican spots, for sure, and I've been trying to make it in for the brunch for months, the menu always stares me down when I'm ordering my burritos. My salsa choice is the chipotle, but they're all tough to beat. El Balazo on Haight is my other choice, and I can never decide which is my number 1, maybe you can help?

I've never tried El Bolazo, but my interest is piqued! I will check it out and let you know :)

Also, Taquerias El Farolito in the Mission serves up one tasty carnitas burrito, definitely worth a try.
