Though I sometimes see it in my head, Mark Morrison's super-hit "Return of the Mack" doesn't always automatically play when I walk into a bar.

That said, Elbo Room's got all the right ingredients to meet a young smoky/sultry/spicy single - it all depends on what your tastes are.

Elbo's got red lightiing (instant sex!), a rockin' live performance space upstairs (cover required), a trendy pulldown projector screen in the back (so we feel artsy), a booming soundsystem (so we can say all the awkward stuff we always do, thus being single), and mind-meltingly strong mixed drinks (so even when the music's quiet and your awkwardness reasserts itself they don't even care). Cheers!

Thursday night's upstairs is Afrolicious and the Pleasuremaker oftentimes with special guest(s) headliners. Afrobeat vibe and energetic dancers and always a fun crowd. (10:00pm - 2:00am)

Fun music and crowd, plus great drinks.

Elbo Room $3 beers before 9pm, and pinball machines... really, I can't ask for more.

Soul Nights at the Elbo Room are great for mixing. There's something about that era of music that even hooks folks who aren't typically into dancing.
