Five Places for Afternoon Tea in New York

New Yorkers survive the busy pace of life in the city by fueling themselves on coffee. I'll admit that I'm a coffee-holic myself, but over the years I've found a new appreciation for the other hot beverage...tea. A great cup of tea is just the thing to indulge in if you need a mellow moment. Fortunately the Big Apple has a variety of unique tea houses where you can enjoy some fresh brew and a much coveted moment of zen. No matter what your budget or brew of preference is, there is a tea spot for you in the city.

Love this article. The Pierre also has a marvelous high tea in a room with a fabulous painted ceiling full of baby angels (putti) and clouds. You feel in fact like you are in heaven. I used to do all my interviews there.

Thanks Debbie. I've been dying to do a comparison of tea at the Plaza to tea at the Pierre.
Radiance is great and they have tea tasting sessions where you learn alot about different types of tea.

Harney & Sons in SoHo is also a place I would recommend. They have a libray of teas that can be sampled before being purchased and a small eating area in the back where they serve deliciuos scones.

Thanks Kelly. I like Harney and Sons a lot too. They have a great Cinnamon Sunset Tea!
