The Top Five Anti-Gym Workouts

It’s already January. Time for another lose-weight-get-fit-be-healthy New Year’s resolution, right? This year you're going to fit into those skinny jeans, get back to your high school weight and get those muscles you’ve seen in the magazines. But before you can even lay out your strategies and goals, the excuses start flowing, and we reason our way out of anything we really don’t want to do.

One of the most widely used excuses is, “I hate the gym.” The gym is boring, smells weird, or is too far away. Has it occurred to anyone that the cave men and the Egyptians were really fit and did not frequent the gym? Okay, so they were running around searching for food all day and dragging 20 ton cinder blocks up hills. The point is, getting fit is not limited to the confines of the gym.

There are plenty of other ways to workout that can be much more entertaining, challenging and even relaxing. Here are five anti-gym workouts that can get you sweaty and fit, all outside that place you hate so much.
