Picnic in the Park: Food and Park Pairing

Even though it’s only January I’m already ready to trade in these cold, dark, blustery winter days for the long, perfectly warm weeks of late September to early October.

Anybody who’s ever lived in San Francisco for more than a year knows that summer isn’t really summer here until it’s fall. One of the best ways to take advantage of those fleeting few weeks where the weather is flawless is to be outside as much as possible…and that includes meal times, too.

San Francisco is known for offering some of the best food in the country and also has a ton of great parks, so what could be better than pairing the two together? And you don’t really need to wait until September; many of these match ups are so good you’ll want to throw on a North Face and try them this weekend.

From traditional Yogi Bear baskets filled with sandwiches and chips to untraditional cartons of garlic fries and nachos, these are the five best park and food combos.

I love the food at the park and especially the Giants. Cha Cha bowl, garlic fries and an ice cold beer is my go-to.
