The 5 Best Things I Ate in 2011

We saw a lot happen in 2011. The Cardinals won the World Series, Verizon customers got the iPod, and Borders filed for bankruptcy. 2011 was also to blame for such wonders as Google+, the royal wedding and Rebecca Black's "Friday." Aren't we glad we shared all that? I know I am.  

On my part, this past year also brought some truly excellent sharing when it came to food. For me, 2011 was the year of wandering New York City in search of a new favorite restaurant. My quest was met by countless meals, but several dishes that rose above the rest and in a year full of food stood alone as the best meals of the past twelve months.

2011 took me on a culinary journey that took my senses from Italy to Ethiopia to Thailand to everywhere and back again. Each dish was completely different in look and taste, but held the same quality that made the trip and train fare totally worth it.
